CinemaNext Completes Pathé Spreitenbach Multiplex

CinemaNext has completed the installation of Pathé Switzerland’s brand-new Pathé Spreitenbach multiplex, located near Zurich. Open to the public since May 9, the 10-screen cinema complex (1,322 seats) has been equipped by CinemaNext Switzerland with 4K laser phosphor projection, Dolby Surround 7.1 and three Dolby Atmos-enabled screens.

Swagath Cinemas Installs 14-Meter Samsung Onyx LED Screen

Samsung and Harman have installed one of the world’s largest Onyx Cinema LED screens in India’s tech capital Bengaluru at the iconic Swagath Cinemas, which will now be rechristened Swagath Onyx Theatre. The screen measures 14 meters. Globally, there are only two other 14-meter Onyx Cinema LED screens installed to date, in Malaysia and China.

Sony Adds Dolby Atmos to Three Mix Stages

As part of the ongoing expansion of its sound resources, Sony Pictures Post Production Services has upgraded three mix stages on the Sony Pictures lot to support sound mixing for film and television in the immersive Dolby Atmos format. Among them is the 344-seat Cary Grant Theatre, the studio’s largest. Sony Pictures now has seven mix stages that support Dolby Atmos sound and plans to have nine within the next few years. The first project slated for an immersive mix in the upgraded theaters is Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man: Far from Home, which opens July 5.

SFC Yonghua Cinema City Opens China’s Second Onyx Theatre

SFC Yonghua Cinema City has become the second facility in China to open a Samsung Onyx theatre. Local technology provider Ace Film & TV installed JBL Sculpted Surround cinema speakers and Crown networked power amplifiers. SFC Yonghua Cinema City is the first cinema in China to feature intelligent networked audio solutions across the entire facility.
