Introducing Yahoo
In an effort to fortify its already formidable brand, for the past month Yahoo has tested a promotional effort in ten select National Cinemedia theatres in five American cities: New York, San Francisco, Cleveland, Dallas and Portland, Oregon. According to Emily Walling, senior manager, integrated marketing for Yahoo, the goal of the campaign, which started July 30th and ends September 2nd, is to make moviegoers more aware of Yahoo’s capabilities. Nominations are now open for the second annual Catalyst Award to be presented during CinemaCon, the official convention of the National Association of Theatre Owners, which will take place March 28-31, 2011 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. As the motion picture exhibition industry moves further into the second decade of adopting digital technology, Digital Cinema Report created the Catalyst Award to honor the independent exhibitor who best demonstrates the full capability, flexibility and promise of digital cinema. Anyone in the industry is eligible to make a nomination.
