Cinema chain Cinemagic and Christie have announced plans to jointly digitize 70 screens currently operated by Cinemagic in Mexico.

Christie will supply an assortment of Christie Solaria One+ and Christie CP2220 projectors to the Cinemagic complexes. Scrabble Entertainment is financing the deal.

“With Christie supplying the highest quality of digital cinema equipment and technical support, Cinemagic will be able to offer to our audience the best quality in cinema projection in each of the cities we serve,” said Roberto Quintero, CEO, Cinemagic.

“Cinemagic is to be commended on its mission to bring cinema to the small communities without entertainment options in Mexico,” said Ernesto Armus, general manager for Christie Mexico. “We are honored to be part of its mission and are committed to supplying Cinemagic with the world’s leading digital projection hardware, software and services.”

Quintero said, “We are confident that with dedication, effort and together with our strategic partners, we will ensure the growth and consolidation of our project to successfully bring cinema to the small communities of our country.”
