SF Studios, Stockholm, has signed an agreement to begin using Unique Digital’s Movie Transit system to deliver digital cinema packages electronically into cinemas across the Nordic Territories. Movie Transit will enable SF Studios to deliver quickly, securely, and reliably across four different territories, providing digital delivery access to nearly 1,000 cinema sites.

“We have long appreciated Unique Digital services and this new pan-Nordic agreement is a natural step where our business requirements are met in a uniform way across all our territories,” said Eva Sundqvist Olmos, theatrical media manager at SF Studios. “The agreement also means a faster delivery of films to the theatres, allowing our four SF Studios countries to work more closely and more efficiently together as one team.”

“We’re delighted to have formalized a Pan-Nordic agreement with the iconic SF Studios,” said Eyvind Ljungquist, Nordic sales director at Unique Digital Ltd. “The advantages of the Movie Transit Solution will be crucial when serving SF Studios broad range of local and international titles as well as enabling varying distribution patterns.”

According to Unique Digital, Movie Transit, which was first deployed in 2012, was the world’s first nationwide network for theatrical feature film distribution via landline broadband. With more than 2,500 connected cinemas across 11 nations, Movie Transit remains the largest network of its kind in the world.
