Visual Data Media Services, which provides digital supply chain services to global content owners and distributors, has acquired London-based MX1 UK Limited, which offers content preparation services to leading broadcasters and content owners as a part of SES, the world’s leading satellite operator and managed service provider.
Its strong client base of major studios, TV and film distributors, broadcasters and streaming platforms complements Visual Data’s existing client base in Europe and North America. With this sale, SES continues to focus on its core business of hybrid content distribution, end-to-end content management and content monetization services. SES remains firmly committed to the development of its core service business in the UK market and worldwide.
VDMS plans to make substantial investment in 4K, high dynamic range and interoperable master format mastering at the company’s 10,000 square foot site in North Acton as part of its mission to pursue a best of the best approach with technology and systems.
All existing MX1 UK contracts with current customers will remain unaffected.

The deal was finalized on November 1. The amount of the deal has not been disclosed.
