Designing Film Stock in the Digital Age
Kodak has just added two new films to its Vision3 family. The stock additions include a medium-speed, tungsten-balanced color negative camera film, and a color intermediate film optimized to work with digital post-production technologies. Digital Cinema Report spoke with Lauren Lung Kodak’s vice president and general manager of the company’s Entertainment Imaging Division in North and South America to learn more about the new film and also, to discuss the future of film in an increasingly digital world. Industry Renaissance in Poland

Harvesting the High Plains

Color Space in Mexico Upgrades DI Capabilities
Color Space, a newly launched post house in Mexico City, has acquired a Northlight 1 film scanner and Baselight HD color grading system from FilmLight as part of its bid to become a market leader in color grading for commercials, music videos, short films and feature films. The only post-production facility in Mexico focused exclusively on color grading, Color Space has made Northlight and Baselight the backbone of a highly flexible digital intermediate infrastructure capable of servicing projects of all types. Pinewood Studios Group has acquired a Northlight 2 film scanner from FilmLight for use in its newly established media preservation, restoration and archive facility. The new scanner will be used in restoring film-based titles from the StudioCanal British Library archive, comprising some 140,000 items including the renowned Ealing film library. The archive has been based at Pinewood for 20 years.
