Prescreen Launches with Kino Lorber’s The Robber

Last month the movie marketing and distribution platform Prescreen launched. One of Prescreen’s first films will be Kino Lorber’s The Robber; a story of a champion marathoner who leads a double life as a serial bank robber, sprinting between heists and escaping from police in epic chase sequences. The question remains, can this effort succeed where others have failed? I spoke with Shawn Bercuson, Prescreen CEO and founder to find out more.

Roger Deakins, ASC, BSC is the recipient of the American Society of Cinematographers 2011 Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his still evolving body of work. Deakins has earned Academy Award nominations for The Shawshank Redemption (1994), Fargo (1996), Kundun (1997), O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000), The Man Who Wasn’t There (2001), The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (2007), No Country for Old Men (2007) and The Reader (shared with Chris Menges, BSC, 2008). He has also won ASC Outstanding Achievement Awards for The Shawshank Redemption and The Man Who Wasn’t There, along with seven other nominations.
Designing Film Stock in the Digital Age

Kodak has just added two new films to its Vision3 family. The stock additions include a medium-speed, tungsten-balanced color negative camera film, and a color intermediate film optimized to work with digital post-production technologies. Digital Cinema Report spoke with Lauren Lung Kodak’s vice president and general manager of the company’s Entertainment Imaging Division in North and South America to learn more about the new film and also, to discuss the future of film in an increasingly digital world.
