Les Cinémas Pathé Gaumont Installing 200-Plus Barco Series 4 Laser Projectors

European exhibitor Les Cinémas Pathé Gaumont is installing more than 200 Barco Series 4 laser projectors. Cinionic, the Barco, CGS, and ALPD cinema joint venture, will power Les Cinémas Pathé Gaumont’s new builds in France and Africa, beginning with its new theater in Sousse Tunisia, Africa. Currently, Les Cinémas Pathé Gaumont operates more than 100 theaters across European and African countries. Together the companies will upgrade new and existing Les Cinémas Pathé Gaumont theaters to bring an elevated movie-going experience for its audiences.

Women in Exhibition Make an Appearance at ECM19

Waterman Sound Opens New Post Facility in Toluca Lake, California

James Longeretta, owner of post-production systems provider Vortechs, has teamed with veteran supervising sound editor/re-recording mixer Joe Schultz (Once Upon a Time, Lost, Amazing Stories for Apple TV) to launch Waterman Sound. The facility offers sound editorial, sound design, mixing, and automated dialogue replacement from its newly built studio in Toluca Lake, California. The company has hired ADR mixer Marilyn Morris (Captain Marvel, Miss Sloane), formerly of Skywalker Sound and Dubbing Brothers, to helm its ADR stage

Veteran Colorist Kevin Michael Kirwan Joins Periscope Post & Audio

Veteran colorist Kevin Michael Kirwan (American Crime Story, American Horror Story) has joined Periscope Post & Audio. Kirwan brings more than 20 years of experience as a senior colorist and credits on more than 40 television series. At Periscope, he will perform final color out of an all-new color-grading suite in Periscope’s facility in Hollywood, which launched earlier this year.
