The German exhibitor Cineplex, a co-op encompassing 26 family businesses with more than 90 cinemas and a market share of 15 percent, has signed a new deal with Showtime Analytics for their email marketing and customer analytics capabilities.
As existing users of the Showtime Insights platform, a real-time operational analysis tool that brings Ticketing, Concessions, Occupancy and Staffing data together in one place, Cineplex has long been committed to using advanced analytics in a way that helps them to better serve their customers.
Cineplex first signed up with Showtime in 2018 as the first customer in the German market. After a complex integration, and continuous development to the system through collaboration with both teams, Cineplex looked to Showtime to help them transition from their existing email marketing solution to a more intuitive and user-friendly platform.
Showtime Engage is a customer and marketing analytics platform that allows cinema operators to get to know their movie-goers through behavioral data analysis, tailored and personalized marketing communications and, most crucially, to track results through audience uplift analytics. Engage was built specifically for the cinema industry, based on real user feedback about how a cinema marketing tool should perform and providing a rich user experience that marketers love working with.

Cineplex also commissioned Showtime to build a custom visualization of their customer data metrics, so that they could efficiently monitor how their business is performing over time, answer their strategic questions about the business, and take the necessary actions to drive more effective marketing and loyalty programs.
