On the anniversary of Filmpalast Kassel’s award for Best Cinema Refurbishment of the Year, presented at the 2021 CineEurope conference in Barcelona by the International Cinema Technology Association, the Germanic circuit announces its partnership with Showtime Analytics and Comscore as their data platform provider for all 14 sites in Germany.

Being one of the key players in the German Industry, the Filmpalast Group is committed to development and innovation across their circuit, having invested close to 30 million euros in their locations over the past three years.

Filmpalast is the only cinema in Germany that offers Imax, 4DX and ScreenX under one roof and combines them with many specially designed highlights and premium concepts. For example, the group has a concept called Lichtspielchen, which is the first children's cinema with its own slide in the hall and huge LED screens for a special lighting atmosphere, as well as an attached children's area.

Ingo Kraft and Juliane de BoerJoint managing directors Ingo Kraft and Juliane de Boer began working with Showtime as part of their focus on operational efficiency when they took over the management of the business in 2020. Streamlining their data provides them with the valuable insights and analytics they need to make decisions about their business.

In a statement they said: “Showtime Analytics is the basis for many operational processes for us. We have the possibility to analyse the data dynamically, so we can react very quickly and specifically to developments and demands in the area of film scheduling, concession and ticket sales.”

Richie Power, CEO of Showtime Analytics said of the partnership: “We are thrilled to be working with such an important player as Filmpalast Group through our partners in Comscore Germany. Showtime remains committed to giving Exhibitors the power to harness their own data in a visually meaningful way, and Filmpalast have shown the difference that putting this information into the hands of their users has had on their circuit operations. We are delighted to have them on board.”

The Showtime Data Platform provides customers with a cloud based managed data analytics solution to automatically bring all key data sources together in one single location.
