Christie has announced a new cinema rental program with OrionPC to provide exhibitors in Brazil the option to acquire Christie RGB pure laser projection technology through a service model, at a fraction of the cost of purchasing the new equipment. CineFlix, an exhibitor from Paraná with 125 screens, is the first customer to join the program, with 80 screens.
Malco Theatres has signed a deal with Cinionic for a circuit-wide upgrade to laser projection. The project leverages Malco’s legacy Barco Series 2 projectors with laser technology in the largest U.S. upgrade to date. Malco is the eighth largest cinema chain in the U.S. with 371 screens across 37 locations. As part of the agreement, Malco is also taking advantage of Cinionic’s extended warranty option for laser-retrofitted Series 2 projectors, extending their coverage well-beyond the industry-standard.

Christie projectors will be installed at several hundred screens across Morocco as part of a brace of projects carried out by partner Global Entertainment. The government-backed project will see more than 100 screens adorned with Christie projection at cultural centers across the country, on behalf of the Moroccan Ministry of Culture and Communications. EVO Entertainment Group and Imax Corporation have announced a partnership to install eight new Imax with Laser systems. This marks the first-ever collaboration between the two companies. As part of the agreement, EVO will bring seven new Imax systems to Texas, including Houston and Austin, and one to Florida. The new systems are expected to begin opening in the third quarter of 2023.

Emagine Entertainment has chosen Christie Real|Laser illuminated projectors for its new theatre opening in Batavia, Illinois, on June 1. Integrity Cinema Systems, the integrator on the project, will install Christie CP4415-RGB, CP4425-RGB and dual CP4455-RGB projectors, plus Mystique Cinema for seamless blending and alignment, for the 94-foot wide Super EMX screen.
