Entertainment studio Electus, distributors of such popular television series as Running Wild with Bear Gryllis, Jane the Virgin, Fameless and Style by Jury, have been using WCPMedia’s cloud-based platform since last year through its international arm to deliver content to broadcasters around the world. What began as a pilot project quickly became standard operating procedure.

Quantum has released StorNext 5.4, a new version of the company's workflow storage platform that enhances the efficiency and flexibility of media content management. StorNext 5.4 enhancements include the ability to integrate existing public cloud storage accounts and third-party object storage (private cloud) — starting with Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, NetApp StorageGRID, IBM Cleversafe and Scality RING — as archive tiers in a StorNext®-managed media environment. Another new feature enables users to deploy applications embedded within StorNext-powered Xcellis workflow storage appliances.

The startup audio technology company Soundly, today released its product with the same name, Soundly, a cloud-based sound effects library and workflow tool. The company says that Soundly represents a completely new approach to sound effects access and editing. Available immediately from http://getsoundly.com for Mac or PC, Soundly is free to download and includes access to 300 sounds.

Sony Pictures Extends Relationship with Wazee Digital

Sony Pictures Post Production Services has extended its long-standing relationship with Wazee Digital through December 2017. Under the extended contract, Sony Pictures will continue using Wazee Digital Core and its automated metadata-processing technology to store, view, and manage assets from Sony Pictures' inventory of feature films, including stock footage, full-length features, and clip selects.
