Ymagis Group today announced an agreement with Greek cinema exhibitor Village Cinemas to install Sphera, CinemaNext’s new premium format cinema concept, at the Village Cinemas location at The Mall Athens in Greece.

Sony Launches 4K Laser Digital Cinema Projector Line
Sony Digital Cinema has launched a new family of 4K laser digital cinema projectors. The SRX-R800 series is the first digital cinema projection system combining Sony’s latest-generation native 4K SXRD with a long-lasting laser light source to achieve a contrast ratio of 10,000:1.
First 4DX Cinema Opens in Austria
CJ 4DPlex announced today that it has equipped the Hollywood Megaplex Gasometer with 4DX immersive seating, making it the first Austrian cinema with the technology. The theatre opened August 2 and is part of the company’s previously announced partnership with Hollywood Megaplex.
Atomic Blonde Premieres in Sony 4K
The Universal Pictures International release Atomic Blonde had its world premiere July 17 at Theater am Potsdamer Platz. The event was presented in Sony 4K using the SRX-R15DS dual projection system.

CineStar Signs with CinemaNext
CineStar has signed an agreement with Ymagis Group’s CinemaNext to oversee all projection and audio installations, field services and technical customer service for CineStar’s entire network of 52 locations across Germany, representing a total of 409 screens.
Storyline Changes the Audio Workflow
For Gisle Tveito, a 26-year veteran, supervising sound editor, dubbing mixer, and one of the owners of Storyline, getting the sound design process to run closer to parallel with the video editing process has always been a goal. While many sound departments wait for picture-lock before starting to work on the sound, the team at Storyline is breaking the mold of the traditional serial workflow by closely aligning audio with video editors from the first cut.
Nordisk Film Cinemas Adds 4DX Screens
CJ 4DPlex has announced that Nordisk Film Cinemas will bring nine additional 4DX immersive seating screens to Scandinavia by the end of 2021. This agreement comes on the heels of a successful run at Nordisk’s first 4DX theatre in Oslo, the Nordisk Ringen. During full time screenings of eight Hollywood titles since March 10, the theater has seen an overall occupancy rate of 72 percent.
