CinemaNext is relocating its UK offices to a new, high-tech facility in the west London town of Uxbridge. The result is an optimized and fully secure hub to support CinemaNext’s fast-growing activities in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
AV Center Cinema has selected Volfoni for a multi-cinema rollout of 3D equipment to one of the largest Danish Theatre Associations. Volfoni worked with AV Center Cinema to equip multiple cinemas from multiple cinema operators and to deploy 24 of Volfoni’s latest 3D hardware systems.
CGR Cinemas has chosen Christie as its exclusive laser projection partner, as it moves to convert all 700 of its theatres to RGB pure laser technology. In a landmark agreement that sees CGR becoming the largest investor in Christie RealLaser systems in the world today, 200 CGR Classic auditoriums will be redeveloped for Christie RealLaser over the next two years.
EclairColor has certified French integrator Audio Visual and Development Enterprise. ADDE’s technical department completed its EclairColor high dynamic range certification last week, which in return allows the company to sell, install and service EclairColor-compatible projection systems.
Ymagis Group and Webedia have announced a partnership to promote EclairColor HDR cinemas and mastered films on AlloCiné (France) and Filmstarts (Germany). The companies’ two websites attract respectively 13.8 million and 3.1 million unique visitors per month.
Éclair today announced the ÉclairColor certification of its content services unit in Berlin. This is the second ÉclairColor certification of an Éclair facility after Paris-Vanves. Two German releases have already been mastered in ÉclairColor by Éclair’s Berlin teams: Jacob Lass’ So Was Von Da, opening in cinemas across Germany today, and Florian Gallenberger’s Grüner Wird’s Nicht, opening August 30.
CJ 4DPlex has opened three ScreenX sites in Switzerland this month through a partnership with Arena Cinemas. The first movie to open in the multi-screen format was Ant-Man and The Wasp. The initial Swiss openings include Arena cinemas in Fribourg, Geneva and Zurich.
In its recent elections, the European Digital Cinema Forum selected several new board members, covering a wide range of the cinema business across many European countries. The International Union of Cinemas, the European Cinema trade group, has launched the second edition of its Women’s Cinema Leadership Program, a 12-month mentoring program for women in cinema exhibition. Building on the success of a ground-breaking pilot program, itself launched at CineEurope in 2017, this year’s edition will provide seven talented female European cinema professionals with the opportunity to receive one-to-one career advice, network and learn from outstanding women executives, recognized for their leadership and business success across the cinema landscape.
Cinema Intelligence, a Vista Group company specializing in business intelligence for cinema exhibitors, has signed a deal with Nordisk Film, its first Scandinavian customer. The agreement covers both Denmark and Norway territories where Nordisk operates a total of 43 cinemas.
