The Boy and The Beast Set to Open March 4

Funimation Films announced today that The Boy and The Beast, the newest Mamoru Hosoda film, will open March 4 in more than 100 theaters across the U.S. Theatergoers will have the option to watch either the original Japanese language version (with English subtitles), the new English dub version produced by Funimation, or both, depending on theater location.

Psycho-Pass: The Movie Coming to Theatres

Funimation Entertainment has announced the North American theatrical dates for the release of Psycho-Pass: The Movie. This climactic feature film is based on the 33-episode, hit TV series of the same name and marks the return of renowned script writer Gen Urobuchi, who wrote the original story for the first season of the anime series. Psycho-Pass: The Movie will screen in more than over 100 theaters across the United States and Canada on March 15 and 16.

Screenvision Announces Deal with Kaos Connect

Screenvision has formed a strategic alliance with with Kaos Connect, a newly formed event cinema company. Kaos Connect was founded by former NCM/Fathom executives, Shelly Maxwell and Dan Diamond, who are recognized experts and leaders in alternative content for movie theatres. Kaos will be Screenvision’s exclusive source of event cinema programming beginning in early 2016.

ECA Names New Board Members

The Event Cinema Association has announced the appointment of four new ECA members to its board of directors. Vanessa Hills, head of marketing at UK distributor More2Screen and Janelle Mason, director and producer at production company and distributor CinemaLive, have been appointed as board directors, and Fabrice Testa, head of international business development for Kencast stepped down from his role at DSAT Cinema to be replaced by Manel Carreras, senior vice president, marketing and content business development services at Ymagis, was voted back onto the board in his new role as head of business development at U.S. technical provider Kencast.
