Hula Post, a woman-owned post-production company, supplied editing systems for King Richard, a biographical drama following the life of Richard Williams, the father and coach of tennis pros Venus and Serena Williams. Hula Post provided Avid workstations, storage, workflow design, creative editorial space, and remote editing systems. King Richard reunited Oscar-nominated editor Pamela Martin, ACE, and Hula Post once again.

The Gregg Theatre in Sedan, Kansas, is preparing to open its doors once again thanks to a dedicated team of local volunteers and some help from Christie’s professional services team. PVR Cinemas has installed a Christie CP4450-RGB large-format RGB pure laser projection system for its new drive-in theatre in Mumbai. Located in Bandra Kurla Complex, a prominent upmarket commercial hub in downtown Mumbai, this drive-in theatre is housed on the rooftop of a premium retail mall named Jio World Drive developed by Reliance Industries.
Season 4 of Star Trek: Discovery will bring viewers further into the story than previous seasons, as lead director of photography Philip Lanyon added shooting in full frame to his creative look. Lanyon was the driving force behind using full frame for Discovery, although the decision to introduce full frame was also somewhat technically driven. “Discovery used virtual production environments in Season 4 and the large format can effectively give you softer backgrounds, which was important to control moiré and other artifacts you can get on a LED wall,” he said, “but shooting in full frame is what I wanted for the look and feel of Season 4.”
Screenvision Media and Super League Gaming have launched Super League Spotlight, a multi-episode series showcasing the best in-game action, created specifically for in-theatre audiences. The first installment of the series launched last week in more than 2000 movie theatres nationwide.

The recent collaboration of several companies came together for both practical and creative reasons to bring the Disney+ feature the Muppets Haunted Mansion to life. “The Muppets and ARwall are a perfect fit,” says Rene Amador, co-founder and CEO of ARwall. His company creates virtual production technology for its own use and in turn markets it to other filmmakers. Its first product is ARFX, a suite of real-time tools developed natively for using real-time in-camera LED effects in scripted filmmaking.
