Dolby Laboratories and The Walt Disney Studios today announced that Disney’s Tomorrowland, in theatres May 22 and Disney•Pixar’s Inside Out, in theatres June 19, 2015, will be the first Dolby Vision titles to be shown at Dolby Cinema locations around the globe. In addition, Disney’s The Jungle Book, which was due out April 15, is also being presented in Dolby Vision, with more titles to be announced.

The highly acclaimed documentary premiered last month at SXSW, received multiple standing ovations and won the prestigious festival’s Audience Award in its category.
Christie has officially announced its laser projection system platform and products. Anchored by the Christie Freedom laser illumination system, the Christie Solaria CP42LH (Cinema), Christie D4K60LH (ProVenue) and Christie Mirage 4KLH (Immersive Environments) models are now available for widespread adoption, having been field proven with key Christie customers in 2014/2015 in both publicly announced and non-disclosed installations.
Barco and Jerry Bruckheimer Films have announced that Bruckheimer will collaborate with Barco to utilize their immersive, panoramic movie format, Barco Escape. Jerry Bruckheimer Films has also joined the Barco Escape advisory board.

AMC Theatres and Dolby Laboratories today announced Dolby Cinema at AMC Prime, a premium cinema offering for moviegoers that makes features Dolby Vision laser projection and Dolby Atmos sound, as well as AMC Prime power reclining seats with seat transducers that vibrate with the action on screen.
The Sim Group has merged with Tattersall Sound and Picture, a Toronto-based provider of sound editorial, ADR and mixing services to film and television productions. The move extends SIM Group’s reach into sound post-production and advances its goal of providing productions with end-to-end services from the camera to the screen.
Modern VideoFilm recently wrapped up a seven-year run as a post-production services provider for FX’s hugely popular series Sons of Anarchy. The Burbank-based facility set up a file-based pipeline for the show, about a motorcycle club based in Northern California, integrating editorial finishing, visual effects, color grading and deliverables. Despite a tight schedule and complex VFX and grading requirements, Modern efficiently delivered a stellar product each week of the show’s long run.
