Accomplice Media Signs Eva Michon

Accomplice Media has signed filmmaker Eva Michon for exclusive representation in commercials. A skillful visual storyteller with a whimsical sense of humor, Michon has earned considerable praise for her work in music videos and fashion films, the latter including work for such designers as Calla, Pink Tartan, Ten Over Six and Rita Liefhebber. Her first feature-length film, Death From Above 1979: A Fly in Amber about the Canadian dance-punk duo, is currently in post-production.

Photo Exhibit to Open in Conjunction with The Dog Release

Drafthouse Films and the Film Society of Lincoln Center have announced the gallery opening of The Dog: Images of a Real Bad Boy - Photographs By Marcia Resnick, in conjunction with the theatrical release of Allison Berg and Frank Keraudren's documentary The Dog. The exhibit will open August 6 at the Film Society of Lincoln Center's The Furman Gallery at the Walter Reade Theater that include photos Resnick took of The Dog himself, John Wojtowicz, the inspiration for Al Pacino's character in Dog Day Afternoon, at his most candid in the 1970s. The exhibit will stay up until August 15.

Kyle Camarillo Wins MōVI at ReDirect Skateboard Filmmaking Competition

When Kyle Camarillo was selected for the ReDirect skateboard filmmaking competition sponsored by Red Digital Cinema and famed skate park, The Berrics, he chose to film his entry with Freefly Systems’ MōVI M10 camera stabilizer. “We’ve always skated alongside the skateboarder to capture footage, so keeping the camera steady is what we always strive for,” Camarillo says. “Using the MōVI perfected that as well as opened up new doors.”

Supermoon Screenings: Rooftop Films at Storm King

The Room Posts Hunter of Invisible Game

Final post-production for Hunter of Invisible Game, the new short film from Bruce Springsteen and Thom Zimny, was completed at The Room, the finishing boutique located within Technicolor-PostWorks, New York. The Room’s Ben Murray conformed the film and applied the final color grade, working in collaboration with filmmaker Thom Zimny, who co-directed with Bruce Springsteen.

Drug Trafficking’s Human Toll

Equatorial heat and humidity, sporadic electrical service, and a modest budget were just a few of the challenges that director Josef Wladyka and writer/DP Alan Blanco faced while filming their feature Manos Sucias (Dirty Hands) among the impoverished fishing villages of Colombia’s Pacific coast. Filmed completely on location, Manos Sucias is a drama depicting the perils of two fishermen coerced into towing an underwater narco-torpedo up the Pacific coast of Colombia. They also filmed in the jungle and aboard small boats in rough seas, all while needing to keep a low profile in a dangerous region

Seeking Funding for Defenders of Life

Defenders of Life is the first fictional portrayal of this indigenous community of Costa Rica. Igor Darbo feels strongly that this story needs to be told. It is the story of the Ngobe people, an indigenous community of Costa Rica, covering their lives, community, culture and struggles. Darbo, a resident of San Jose, Costa Rica's capital, is in the process of making the first fiction feature film with and about the Ngobes.
