Ymagis Group Expands Services for German Movie Exhibitors

Ymagis Group has announced the expansion of its services to movie exhibitors in Germany with the establishment of new global service points for projection and audio systems, installation and maintenance. The group will now have technicians based in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Munich, Frankfurt and Hamburg. This strategic move follows the merger of dcinex with Ymagis Group in October 2014.

Barco Capital opens up new ways for customers to finance their investment in Barco technology to boost their business while balancing the payment spike. Deluxe, Technicolor to Combine Forces

In a move that should come as no great surprise to anyone who has followed the digital cinema transition, Deluxe Entertainment Services Group Inc. and Technicolor are combining resources to create a new digital cinema joint venture. The new company, Deluxe Technicolor Digital Cinema, will specialize in theatrical digital cinema mastering, distribution and key management services.

Technicolor Offers HDR Grading Services and Software Licensing

Technicolor has announced that it will further support content creators in the transition to next generation video technology by expanding its color grading service offering to include high dynamic range grading for movies, TV shows and commercials. Additionally, the company is licensing an Intelligent Tone Management plug-in that will enable broadcasters to create HDR content in their own facilities, empowering an additional segment of the entertainment ecosystem with next generation video capabilities.

Dolby Vision to Launch with Disney’s Tomorrowland, Disney•Pixar’s Inside Out

Dolby Laboratories and The Walt Disney Studios today announced that Disney’s Tomorrowland, in theatres May 22 and Disney•Pixar’s Inside Out, in theatres June 19, 2015, will be the first Dolby Vision titles to be shown at Dolby Cinema locations around the globe. In addition, Disney’s The Jungle Book, which was due out April 15, is also being presented in Dolby Vision, with more titles to be announced.

Dolby, Vizio Partner on Dolby Vision with the Vizio Reference Series

Dolby Laboratories has announced a partnership with Vizio to bring Dolby Vision to the consumer market through the Vizio Reference Series 65-inch and 120-inch Ultra HD Full-Array LED Smart TVs. With an initial slate of Warner Bros. 4K Ultra HD Dolby Vision titles confirmed for distribution via VUDU, Walmart’s video on demand service, combined with play back capabilities on the Vizio Reference Series, consumers will be able to experience the power of Dolby Vision in their living room.
