Dolby, Paramount Pictures, and AMC Theatres today announced that Titanic, winner of 11 Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Director, will return to select theaters nationwide December 1 for an exclusive one-week engagement in Dolby Cinema at AMC.
Inox Leisure, India's premier multiplex chain, has launched what the company says is the finest celebration of luxury in the world of cinema, the Inox Insignia at Atria Mall, Worli, Mumbai. It is the first new cinema in South Mumbai in more than nine years.
Cinema West Veranda Luxe Cinema is the first cinema complex to fully integrate all Dolby technologies for an immersive Dolby Atmos audio experience across a total of nine screens. Located in Concord, California, the complex has a grand opening scheduled for December.
Les Cinémas Gaumont Pathé, the largest cinema chain operator in France, the Netherlands, and Switzerland, has installed Dolby Cinema at Pathé Massy, south of Paris, and will open today. This marks the first Dolby Cinema in France, with Pathé Vaise in Lyon and Pathé Docks 76 in Rouen opening later this year.
FLiK Cinemas has selected Destiny Seating and Volfoni to equip their new platinum-class multiplexes. Volfoni partnered with Destiny Seating to supply FLiK Cinemas with their 3D hardware systems. FLiK Cinemas has recently completed the first platinum-class and gold-class multiplex in the Gulf Cooperation region, which comprises the energy rich Gulf monarchies Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
CJ 4DPlex today announced that Kinepolis is set to open four 4DX theatres by the end of the year. Kinepolis will open 4DX theatres at its cinemas in Antwerp and Brussels (Belgium), Lomme (France) and Madrid (Spain). The first film that Kinepolis will show in 4DX is still to be confirmed.
El Rey Network’s lucha libre wrestling series Lucha Underground will be the first U.S. television series to screen in the immersive CJ 4DPlex 4DX seating format. Ultima Lucha Tres – Part IV, the season three finale, will screen at a private event for media and fans in the 4DX auditorium at the Regal L.A. Live Stadium 14 October 17.

Cineplex has installed ten D-Box immersive virtual reality motion seats and systems in its Scotiabank Theatre in Ottawa, Canada. CJ 4DPlex today announced that its 4DX technology is now available in 400 theatres around the world. The opening of its 400th location makes 4DX the fastest-growing premium cinema format, having reached this milestone in seven-and-a-half years following its debut in 2009. The 400th 4DX location is officially launching today at Wanda Cinemas in Tiantongyuan, Beijing, China, with the screening of Spider-Man: Homecoming – an ideal showcase for an innovative film technology that features motion seats and environmental effects such as rain, fog and various scents.
