A Million Dollar Workflow

Leslie Carney has more than twenty years of experience in television post-production. Working as post supervisor for MTV's Stranded with a Million Dollars, which will air February 21, she recently delivered 10 one-hour episodes. An efficient workflow has rarely been more critical. “The show was challenging,” said Carney. “It was shot over 40-days using 14 different types of cameras, including RoboCams and 4K Drones. We had to deal with a massive amount of media and all kinds of frame-rates and codecs.”

Creating an ACES Workflow

Award-winning cinematographer Theo Van De Sande ASC was an early supporter of the Academy Color Encoding System, using version 0.2.2 on civil war drama Deliverance Creek in 2013, which was nominated for the ASC Award for Television. Since then he has been a staunch supporter, using ACES on numerous TV shows and pilots. When he was offered the chance to shoot Bad Santa 2 for Miramax, he turned again to ACES for his color-processing pipeline.

Backstage Relies on Facilis TerraBlock

The post-production team for the Canadian family drama series Backstage is again relying Facilis TerraBlock for their collaborative editorial workflow for its second season. Ellen Fine, CCE (Canada Cinema Editor) is the supervising editor and consulting producer on Backstage. The series is produced by Fresh TV and distributed by DHX. It currently airs on the Family Channel in Canada and on the Disney Channel in the US and worldwide.

Nugen Audio Announces AMB Audio Management Batch Processor

Producing with an Eye to the Future

Pixel Underground has been providing post-production services to Canadian television producer Peace Point Entertainment Group for more than 15 years, but their latest project together, the food series Inspired with Anna Olson, broke new ground for both companies. Inspired with Anna Olson is Peace Point’s first television series produced in 4K UHD.
