Arts Alliance Media will launch a new version of its end-to-end cinema software suite at CineAsia in Hong Kong this week. Software products will be available in modules, so customers can select functionality that meets their specific requirements and build a custom software suite over time as their needs change.
The advanced version of AAM’s Theatre Management System, Screenwriter Plus, will also be available with a mobile companion app, providing maximum efficiency and flexibility by sending proactive error alerts straight to a mobile device.
“We’ve heard from many of our customers that they would like to be able to pick and choose which features of our software best suit their needs,” said Eric Stevens, commercial director of Arts Alliance Media. “We aim to give customers what they want, so we developed a new modular version of our cinema software suite and added a mobile companion app for Screenwriter Plus. This means we can offer even more flexibility to our exhibitor partners and help them save time, keep their shows running smoothly, and make sure their customers get the very best experience possible.”
The first products to be rolled out in modularized versions will be Producer, AAM’s circuit management system, and Lifeguard, software to monitor hardware across a circuit. Producer has base modules of Content Monitoring and Content Management, which provide the software’s core functionality of being able to view and manage all pieces of content at sites throughout a circuit from one central location. Optional modules which can be added to the base modules include Log Collection and Live Playback, enabling playback history reports and playout divergence reports, and Pack Management to enable head office to create, target and deliver packs of pre-show content direct to sites.
Other available modules include those that automate the building of templates for playlists, and the Locksmith module, which manages KDMs across all sites and screens, along with the ability to centrally upload, search and re-deliver keys throughout the circuit.
For the Lifeguard NOC Tools software, the base module of Asset Monitoring provides Lifeguard essentials, such as the ability for an exhibitor NOC or head office to continuously monitor the performance of any network device, including projectors, servers, audio processors and quality control probes. Lifeguard Asset Monitoring also alerts exhibitors immediately to any errors through email or SMS notifications, and allows historical equipment performance data to be recorded and analysed.
The Lifeguard Ticketing module, which can be added to the suite, enables centralized prioritisation of issues, ticket creation and tracking.
CineAsia will also provide customers in the APAC region an opportunity to see the new Screenwriter Mobile Companion app. Launched at ShowEast in October the app provides essential TMS functionality to mobile devices. Any issues that threaten shows, such as missing content or KDMs, are immediately sent as proactive notifications straight to the device, allowing managers to review and fix problems in time to avoid losing shows. The app also shows at a glance exactly what is happening across all the screens in the complex with the Timeline View. Cinema operations are also made easier by the ability to create and assign tasks using the app.
CineAsia is being held at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre December 9-11. Arts Alliance Media will be at Booth #105.
