Christie will feature its wide range of cinema products this week at CineaAsia 2020. Christie says the virtual event, which runs November 4-5, enables the company to reaffirm its support for partners and customers in the Asia Pacific region, as various exhibitors seek to reopen their theatres after extended periods of closure due to COVID-19. CineAsia 2020 also serves as a useful platform for Christie to showcase its cinema technology and services designed to further improve cost of operation.

Christie will feature its wide range of cinema products this week at CineaAsia 2020.“These are unprecedented times and it’s certainly not business as usual for many cinema exhibitors in the region,” said Han Kim, executive director for APAC, Cinema, Christie. “Through our participation in CineAsia 2020, we want our partners to know we are here to support them during challenging times. With new products and programs designed specifically to get exhibitors up and running as soon as possible, we are working towards an eventual recovery for the industry.”

Christie’s CineAsia 2020 landing page will showcase the latest technologies and resources aimed at helping exhibitors reopen for business. These include the newly introduced Christie CounterAct UV light disinfection products with patented Care222 technology that emit far-UVC 222nm light that’s shown to significantly reduce surface pathogens in indoor spaces. Ideal for cinemas and other indoor venues, it’s the only far-UVC germicidal technology that may also be used around people, and the only with a proprietary filter that prevents longer UVC wavelengths from being emitted.

Another highlight of the virtual booth are three high-value RGB laser cinema projectors that offer small-screen exhibitors an advanced, yet affordable digital cinema option. Also being featured are Christie’s proprietary CineLife and CineLife+ electronics platforms that are manufactured, designed and integrated into Christie’s range of DCI-compliant projectors.

To help dealers realize a recurring revenue stream from their clients, Christie has introduced a new Rental Mode capability for the CineLife (Series 3) and CineLife+ (Series 4) cinema projectors. Instead of purchasing a projector outright, Rental Mode allows the option for a projector to be rented or leased to an exhibitor. This function allows term limits to be set on projectors, giving dealers control over the equipment rental and offering exhibitors the financial freedom to welcome audiences back with the best and brightest Christie cinema projectors.

Featuring a streamlined UX-designed interface, Christie CineLife simplifies the playback, scheduling and management of cinema content, providing advanced capabilities such as HFR support for 2K 120fps and 4K 48fps for native 4K 3D playback.
