Dedo Weigert to Teach Lighting Seminars in Los Angeles

Dedo WeigertNoted director of photography, manufacturer, and recognized lighting industry authority and lecturer, Dedo Weigert, brings his unique brand of expertise to Los Angeles for a free educational lighting event. The eight-hour curriculum will include a seminar, demonstration and competition in which Weigert will share his in-depth knowledge about professional lighting.

Attendees can register for the one-day event to be held on Saturday November 8, or Sunday November 9.

Topics covered will include LED light sources, comparisons, and evaluations of output and color analysis featuring live demonstrations of spectrum analysis according to CRI, expanded CRI and the Television Lighting Consistency Index. Weigert will personally explain camera-based analysis and show examples and methods. Additional subjects include optical systems for focusing LED light, as well as methods and tools for light and shadow shaping.  

As a renowned inventor and manufacturer, Weigert will introduce new LED equipment for lighting large studios as well as tools for the smallest teams. 

Another portion of the program centers on a portable studio concept workshop, New Tools for the Smallest Teams. This will feature a live lighting demonstration and several videos showing different lighting situations and solutions.  

The day will conclude with a location lighting competition featuring several rounds with three teams each. Attendees are invited to light on their own or in a team of their choice. An audience vote will select the winner of each round who will earn a choice of prizes valued up to $1500.

The event will begin at 9:30am and conclude at 7:30pm. Registrants have a choice of November 8 or 9 to attend. Lunch will be served.
