The Digital Cinema Society has partnered with DPS Cinema to present an in-depth look at their Enhanced Environments system. The one-day invitation only event brings together for the very first time DPS Cinema’s Enhanced Environments, Panasonic's VariCam 35, and the new Codex Raw Recorder. The event will be held Saturday, August 8th at the DPS Grid @ Los Angeles.

The Enhanced Environments system, developed by DPS's Cinema Division, is the company’s alternative to the pervasive use of green screen. The live demo will showcase how the system works with digital cinema acquisition systems. Panasonic will also be on hand to exhibit the Panasonic VariCam 35 together with Codex's new V-RAW Recorder. The event is designed to demonstrate the capabilities of each system.

The live demo will shoot 4K real-time practical photo realistic virtual sets with computer driven interactive lighting enveloping the scene and its subjects. Taken together the process allows the seamless merging of acquisition and visual effects.

For those in attendance who want to get a hands-on experience with the Panasonic VariCam 35, representatives will be on hand to bring them up to speed and show the latest innovations including the new on-board RAW recording option via the Codex V-RAW Recorder.

“The DPS Cinema division provides technical and creative support for filmmakers endeavoring to achieve unique results with advanced lighting and media technology. DPS Cinema’s Enhanced Environment Process is the result of that technical commitment,” says Paul Kobelja vice president, DPS Cinema.
