German Cinema Breaks Two Guinness World Records

The Traumplast Leonberg, a multiplex chain in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, has broken two Guinness World Records with its new Imax screen that encompasses 8770.43 square feet.

"To put this into perspective,” the Guinness people said in announcing the records, “the screen is wider than a Boeing 737 airliner."

The Guinness World Records said the screen was measured by a specialist company using laser sensor technology, which allowed it to confirm the screen size with millimeter precision.
