Croatian digital cinema and AV systems integrator LMT Laboratory of Multimedia Technologies, Zagreb, has reported that virtually Croatian art, municipal and independent cinemas are fully equipped with the latest generation of digital cinema equipment. The company was awarded the public tender for the digitalization of independent cinemas in Croatia in July 2013.

"We feel privileged for being able to help our small cinemas open the gates of a digital era. It took exactly 90 days from contract signature to the national roll-out day in all 28 theaters,” said LMT general manager Zlatko Jelacic. “The project included installations in 27 different cities and the establishment of a 24/7 NOC service. Through continuous education, the NOC service and a five-year support and maintenance contract, we are helping our customers embrace all the magic of the digital world. All the latest premieres, including those of independent and art film, along with the live alternative content, can now be easily accessed from virtually every part of Croatia.”

The National digitalization project highlighted Croatia as the only country in southeastern Europe to have a big majority of its small and independent cinemas switch to digital by acting on a national level. Through institutional support of a one-shot countrywide digitalization project, Croatia created a network of digital cinemas, bringing culture and entertainment to even the most remote parts of the country.
