The Equity & Inclusion Committee of Post New York Alliance will host a free online panel discussion on negotiating pay rates for post-production professionals. The event is being held at 4:00 p.m. EDT August 18.
Focusing on post-production producers, supervisors, coordinators, assistants and other management roles, Post producers Claire Shanley and Kendall McCarthy will join moderator Gautam Singhani in exploring how and when to approach prospective employers about pay.
Drawing on their deep experience in New York’s competitive post-production industry, Shanley and McCarthy will offer tips and advice on navigating often difficult compensation negotiations.
Shanley’s recent projects include Gilded Age, The Plot Against America and The Deuce. Her background also includes post facility and technical management roles. She served as managing director at Sixteen19 and technical director at Broadway Video.
McCarthy got her start working with executive producer Jerry Brownstein on films for Director Hal Hartley. For more than ten years, she has freelanced as a post-production supervisor, working with some of New York's most talented and creative directors. She is currently the post co-producer on Dead Ringers.
Singhani is a production and post manager with more than eight years of experience in scripted and unscripted productions. Having overseen 75-plus projects in New York, Los Angeles and Mumbai, he currently works at Story Syndicate where his most recent credits include Fauci (Nat Geo) and Mayor Pete (Amazon).
