In advance of its summer hiatus, Post Break, Post New York Alliance’s free webinar series, will present a special session on the relationship between editors and their assistants. Two veteran editor/assistant teams will discuss how they work together and how their respective roles support each other.
Jamie Kirkpatrick, who has built a diverse filmography over his two decades in the film industry, including Dave Chappelle's Block Party, Lost in Translation, The Inevitable Defeat of Mister & Pete and the critically acclaimed indie hit, My Friend Dahmer, will be the moderator.
Editor Katie Ennis and her assistant Julie Kreinik will describe their work on such projects as Dexter: New Blood and City on a Hill as well as their current project, the Hulu musical comedy Up Here.
Editor Shelly Westerman and her assistant Payton Koch will talk about editing American Crime Story, Pose and Ratched, as well as the current Hulu series Only Murders in the Building.
Takeaways will include advice on how aspiring editors and assistant editors can manage their careers to advance in the art and the business. Attendees are encouraged to submit their own questions to the panelists.
Post Break is free and open to all. This session is scheduled for Thursday, June 30 at 4:00 pm EDT. Register here.
