The next edition of Post Break, the free webinar series from the Post New York Alliance, will feature the first in a series of three in-depth conversations about the role of assistant editors and their responsibilities and workflow during the turnover process to finish a film or episode.
Nice Shoes digital intermediate finishing artist Alex Hartley and freelance assistant editor Max Berger will talk with moderator Ben Baker, partner at Next Gen Production, about the interaction between assistant editors and conform editors in the finishing process.
The session is slated for Thursday, March 3 at 4:00 p.m. EST. Registration is available here.
Hartley and Berger will offer advice on how to organize projects and manage turnover in a manner best suited to individual productions. They will describe what, how and when to deliver media to a digital intermediate post-production house for finishing. They will also provide guidance on how to ensure everything on an edit timeline transfers directly to the colorist’s timeline. If you are an assistant editor or aspire to work in a New York editorial department on television or feature projects, this session will tell you everything you need to know to nail this crucial part of the editorial process.
