Qube Cinema has launched the CinemaDB website https://www.cinemadb.io, a comprehensive database of cinemas worldwide that allows theatre chains, single screens and digital cinema integrators to manage their own facility details and the devices used in each auditorium.
Theatre chains and Integrators can also choose to publish their own Trusted Device List (TDL) data as a freely distributable FLM-x data feed that can be provided to digital cinema mastering facilities and KDM management services that support this standard.
Qube Cinema also operates KeySmith, a KDM management service aimed at distributors, production companies and independent filmmakers who can now encrypt their DCPs and manage their KDM requirements using an easy-to-use web interface. CinemaDB complements the KeySmith service by serving as an accurate data source.
“It’s amazing that in the 21st century, no one has a comprehensive online database of all the cinemas in the world!” said Senthil Kumar, co-founder of Qube Cinema. “We have the knowledge and we have the resources so we just went out and did it.”
After spending several months gathering, sanitizing and validating the data from around the world, a dedicated 24/7 team at Qube Cinema now manages all data updates and ensures a high level of accuracy and dependability. “Cinema chains, digital cinema integrators and independent theatres can now choose to take over the management of their own data and we’ve made it incredibly easy for them to start doing that as their data is already in the system so they don’t have to spend days entering information,” said Rajesh Ramachandran, president of Qube Cinema.
