The UK Cinema Association's 2023 conference Greening the Big Screen Experience to be held at Picturehouse Central, London, March 21-22 will bring together more than 300 colleagues from across the UK and beyond to consider why environmental issues matter and to explore what actions might now be needed in response to the challenges they present. All businesses now find themselves expected to address issues around environmental sustainability, driven not just by consumer pressure but also by increasing importance of considerations around resource use and costs.

Given the increasing understanding of its environmental impact across a range of activities, those challenges are as relevant to the cinema sector as to any other.

Across the two days, sessions will look at aspects including the role of technology in reducing energy use, best practice in cinema operation, the pressures on this issue being felt across a range of relevant revenue streams and the future of sustainable cinema design.
