Disney’s The Jungle Book is the first film released in the U.S. in Dolby Vision 3D and is available at two Dolby Cinema at AMC Prime locations: Empire 25 in New York City and Hawthorn in Chicago. In this video director John Favreau shares how the movie sets a new bar for beautiful visuals and the 3D movie-going experience. “Whatever hesitation people might have in going to see a 3D movie I think completely goes away,” he says, “because the brightness of the image, the quality of the lenses and the fact that…the glasses just disappear and you’re watching a crystal clear image where you feel like you just climb onto the screen is a game changer.”

Jackie Chan Cinema and Dolby Laboratories today announced that the premium Dolby Cinema experience is coming to the top-grossing movie site in China, Jackie Chan Cinema’s Beijing Wukesong. The cinema site topped China’s box office and attendance rankings from 2011 to 2015. In 2014, it was the only cinema to achieve a box office gross of RMB 100 million in China.

Disney, Lionsgate, and Twentieth Century Fox will release four live-action and animated feature films for Dolby Cinema around the world. The first of the new titles will be Twentieth Century Fox’s Deadpool, in theatres February 12. Additional titles include Disney’s Zootopia, in theatres March 4; Lionsgate’s The Divergent Series: Allegiant, in theatres March 18; and Lionsgate’s Now You See Me 2, in theatres June 10.

Dolby has announced that five new Hollywood features, including the first two titles from Twentieth Century Fox, will be joining the Dolby Cinema experience. Dolby Cinema, featuring Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, is a premium cinema offering for exhibitors and moviegoers that combines spectacular image and sound technologies with inspired design to make every visit a completely captivating cinematic event.
