Miller Camera Support Equipment has announced that the Burbank facility of AbelCine will be its new, exclusive authorized product and service center on the West Coast. This relationship is part of Miller’s plan to further support its customers and continue expanding its presence in the region.

Stream TV to Highlight Glasses-Free 3D at NAB 2014

Stream TV Networks will highlight its Ultra-D glasses-free 3D technology at the National Association of Broadcasters convention in Las Vegas next week, marking the first time that the glasses-free 3D screens will be on display at the show. It also marks the start of Stream TV’s relationship with SGO. The system is being tested in full by London-based post facility Onsight. SGO is in booth SL9021.

QuVIS Wraptor DCP Generator Integrated into Adobe Pro Video Tools

QuVIS Technologies today announced the integration of the QuVIS Wraptor digital cinema package encoder in the next update to Adobe Media Encoder CC and directly accessible from Adobe Premiere Pro CC. Company officials will demonstrate the capability of the Wraptor Media Encoder integration at the National Association of Broadcasters convention next week in Las Vegas. The new integration will provide Adobe Creative Cloud members with the ability to easily create digital cinema packages for distribution and archiving.

Devil & Demon to Debut “Super-computers for Everyone” at NAB2014

The Devil & Demon Strategy today announced the availability of what the company is calling super-computers for everyone. The new product line of Devil supercomputers and Demon workstations will be on display at the National Association of Broadcasters convention in Las Vegas next week. At the show Devil & Demon systems will be running a variety of software including Autodesk’s VRed simulator, Chaos Group’s VRay RT and Digital Vision’s Nucoda, as well as Survios’ VR game Zombies On The Holodeck.

Fujifilm’s to Unveil Cabrio Lens with 12X Zoom Ratio at NAB2014

Fujifilm will announce the latest addition to its Cabrio series of cine zooms, the Premier PL 25-300mm Cabrio [ZK12x25] at the National Association of Broadcasters convention in Las Vegas next week. Equipped with a 35mm PL mount, the PL 25-300mm boasts a high zoom ratio covering the focal length of 25mm to 300mm.

Completing The Dark Place

The Dark Place tells the story of Keegan Dark, who has the uncanny ability to remember his life in videographic detail. Both a blessing and a curse, Dark uncovers a conspiracy that frames him for murder, threatens his inheritance, and endangers his family’s lives and livelihood. When director Jody Wheeler began shopping for a post-house to complete his feature film The Dark Place, he chose AlphaDogs because he had been told of their excellent reputation in working with independent filmmakers.

Codex Supports Captain America, Other Summer Movies

Marvel Studios used Codex recording technology to streamline the capture-to-post workflow on several high-profile productions, the most recent of these being Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Cinematographer Trent Opaloch chose to frame the action in a widescreen anamorphic format, captured by Arri Alexa Plus cameras shooting ArriRaw with a 4:3 sensor and Codex Onboard S recorders.
