From children of the 1980s to teenagers and everyone in between, the Netflix series Stranger Things has connected with audiences worldwide. The fourth season features superpowered showdowns, exploding helicopters and sinister vine attacks. These episodes presented Scanline VFX with many opportunities to create a number of new and exciting effects. “The visual effects work in previous seasons was stellar, but this season was more like nine blockbuster movies,” says Justin Mitchell, visual effects supervisor at Scanline VFX. “We were given some huge sequences and complex effects to work on across eight of the episodes.”
Hill Country Studios today announced a partnership with the Houston-based video production company Vision to serve as its lead technology partner. Hill Country Studios says it will leverage Vision’s production and design expertise to construct two LED virtual production stages.

Teradek and Sony Electronics have announced an integration that will provide productions in the cine and broadcast markets with greater flexibility in camera-to-cloud workflows. Sony’s Ci Media Cloud will natively integrate with Serv 4K and Prism Flex, Teradek’s 4K high dynamic range encoding systems. Now, any camera used on-set, in-studio, or remotely will be able to upload footage to Ci directly from Teradek’s encoders.
