Sean Dunckley Joins Goldcrest Post as Senior Colorist

Goldcrest Post has named Sean Dunckley senior colorist. A highly accomplished post-production veteran, Dunckley brings more than 130 credits spanning features, streaming and broadcast. Recent projects include MGM’s critically acclaimed feature Bottoms, the Max Original crime thriller Tokyo Vice and the Apple TV+ teen comedy Dickinson. At Goldcrest, he will focus on high quality studio and independent features, streaming productions, and broadcast series.

David Barber Named President of the Motion Picture Sound Editors

The Motion Picture Sound Editors trade group has elected David Barber, MPSE, to a two-year term as president. Barber succeeds Mark Lanza, MPSE, who reached his term limit. Additionally, Miguel Araujo was re-elected as secretary, while Eric Marks was appointed to fill Barber’s previous post as vice president on an interim basis until the next board election in October. Chris Reeves and Solange Schwalbe continue in their roles as treasurer and sergeant at arms, respectively.

Dane A. Davis to Receive MPSE 2024 Career Achievement Award

The Motion Picture Sound Editors will honor supervising sound editor/sound designer Dane A. Davis, MPSE with its 2024 Career Achievement Award. Davis is known for his Oscar winning work on The Matrix, and for his creative contributions to that film’s sequels and scores of other films and television shows. He will receive the award at the 71st Annual Golden Reel Awards March 3, 2024, at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles.

Spotlight Cinema Networks Offers New Program Capabilities; Hires New VP

Spotlight Cinema Networks, which says it is the only cinema advertising company dedicated to serving top U.S. luxury/dine-in and art house theatres, has launched its big screen programmatic advertising offering. Advertisers now have the capability to insert a brand's ad five minutes prior to the start of each Spotlight preshow.

Classic Cinema CEO Chris Johnson to Receive 2024 NATO Marquee Award

The National Association of Theatre Owners will honor Chris Johnson, CEO of Classic Cinemas, with the 2024 NATO Marquee Award during next year’s CinemaCon, Mitch Neuhauser, managing director of CinemaCon, announced today. CinemaCon, the official convention of NATO, will be held April 8-11, 2024, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
