Mocha Chai Laboratories, Singapore’s first fully integrated digital film lab, has installed the Christie Vive Audio cinema sound system in its dubbing theater to provide the best possible cinematic audio capabilities for post-production tasks. The dubbing theater, which is fully equipped with audio post-production and 4K color grading facilities, is fully compliant with the DCI-standard.
Barco partner Clover Solutions signed a multi-million deal with Maze for the installation of up to 100 Barco digital cinema projectors across Myanmar. Christie is proud to serve as the exclusive digital projection partner of the Shanghai International Film Festival for the eighth consecutive year. The festival runs June 11-19. Currently in its 19th year, the SIFF is known as China’s only non-specialized competitive international film festival accredited by the Paris-based Fédération Internationale des Associations de Producteurs de Films. The festival kicked off in style with the screening of Cold War II – the long-awaited sequel to the 2013 smash hit starring Chow Yun-fat and Aaron Kwok, while Korean-Chinese co-produced melodrama Sweet Sixteen will close the event. After initially being released in November 2015, the Japanese animation film Girls und Panzer: The Film sky-rocketed from 24th to 8th in the national box office rankings this month when it was released in 4DX. The average occupancy rate during the films first weekend in 4DX hit 97 percent at the 27 4DX screens it was available. The film is set to be screened at all 33 4DX screens in Japan this March.
At the CineAsia 2015 tradeshow in Hong Kong December 8–10, Dolby will showcase a full range of integrated, end-to-end post-production, audio, and imaging solutions for the cinema industry.
