Barco will highlight CinemaBarco at CinemaCon 2016, April 11-14 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. CinemaBarco includes Barco Laser Projection, Barco Escape, AuroMax and Barco Lobby Experience. Recent independent and exhibitor surveys indicate that moviegoers give the highest image quality scores to laser-illuminated screens. They also state that this premium experience would entice them to visit the cinema more frequently and that patrons are willing to pay a higher ticket price for the laser-projected movie, resulting in significantly higher revenues for exhibitors.
Event cinema will take center stage at CinemaCon April 12th at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas when Fathom Events honors BBC Worldwide North America with its Excellence in Event Cinema Award. In anticipation of what it believes will be the beginning of the adoption of a standardized format for immersive sound, at CinemaCon Barco will be publically showing, for the first time, AuroMax: a system that incorporates support for the placement of “objects” in any immersive mix and the most revolutionary rendering technology available from Iosono. More than 100 films have been released globally in Auro 11.1 – including this summer’s Minions, Pixels, and Everest – with even more announcements expected in the coming weeks.

After its first Academy held in 2014, which had an attendance of more than 100 people, this year’s free one-day event outside of the main body of Cinemacon programming will again be hosted by Harkness’ Technical Specialists. The Academy will highlight some of the major issues relating to presentation faced by exhibitors and showcase forward thinking solutions to these.
