In the wake of the pandemic, New York-based Little Cinema has deployed Verimatrix watermarking and digital rights management technologies for its virtual premieres and previews. A digital studio, Little Cinema has partnered with Netflix, ABC, CBS, HBO Max, and Warner Media to produce virtual premiere events for an industry that used to rely solely on in-person debuts.

Swiss Pirate Network KBoxServ Shut Down

Canal+ Group and the Kudelski Group have shut down a piracy organization based in Canton of Vaud in the Lake Geneva region that delivered French-speaking on-demand content to thousands of customers. It is the first piracy shutdown of its kind in Switzerland. The operation is the result of a criminal complaint from Canal+ Group and Nagra, the digital TV division of the Kudelski Group, to the Vaud Police, which led the effort with the support of Europol, the law enforcement agency of the European Union, and Eurojust, the European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation.

Abramorama Releasing Soros Documentary in U.S. November 18

Abramorama has acquired U.S. distribution rights for Jesse Dylan’s feature length documentary film Soros, from Vital Pictures. Abramorama is orchestrating a nationwide live streaming premiere with a post-screening conversation with Dylan and additional guests on November 18 on the film’s website – www.sorosfilm.com. Abramorama will release the film as a nationwide Watch Now @ Home offering starting November 20. The film had its U.S. premiere at the Telluride Film Festival.

Christie Granted Patent for In-Home Streaming Technology for Cinema Exhibitors

Christie Digital Systems announced today that, pursuant to a filing in 2018, the U.S Patent and Trademark Office issued Christie a U.S. patent under US10783282B2 on September 22, which enables exhibitors to stream movies directly to the home using their current technologies in a way that supplements their existing business model.

Bite Size Halloween Features Short Genre Films
