When line producer Craig Fleming started looking at locations to film Cea Sunrise Person’s autobiographical book North of Normal, he knew it had to be a remote location. Once Fleming found the ideal location, he knew that rural British Columbia would play a starring role. But the beautiful location presented a challenge: at first it appeared that its remoteness meant the crew couldn’t connect with the outside world.

Sundance Filmmakers Overwhelmingly Choose Adobe Technology

For the fifth year in a row, more Sundance Film Festival filmmakers selected Adobe video editing and collaboration tools than any other. This year’s annual Sundance Institute survey found that more than two-thirds (67 percent) of Sundance films used Adobe Premiere Pro or Frame.io to bring their stories to life: Premiere Pro is the festival’s most popular video editing software, used by more than half of Sundance films, including Plan C, Going Varsity in Mariachi, Sometimes I This about Dying, Fremont and many others.

HPA Calls for Proposals for the 2023 Tech Retreat

Arri to Receive the Philo T. Farnsworth Corporate Achievement Award

The Television Academy has announced that Arri will receive the Philo T. Farnsworth Corporate Achievement Award for its more than a century of designing and manufacturing camera and lighting systems as well as its development of systemic technological solutions and service networks for a worldwide complex of film, broadcast, and media industries.
