New Ant-Man Releasing in 4DX, ScreenX

Marvel Studios' Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will debut on February 17 in the visually immersive formats from CJ 4Dplex including 270-degree panoramic ScreenX theatres and the multi-sensory 4DX theatres. The film is the official kick off for phase five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and tickets for the anticipated adventure are on sale now.

Cineplex, in partnership with CJ 4DPlex, has announced that British Columbia has opened the first 4DX auditorium at Cineplex Cinemas Metropolis in Burnaby. The 4DX cinematic experience gives audiences the ability to fully escape into their movie while engaging all of their senses, including touch, sight, sound and smell. The enhanced cinematic experience at Cineplex Cinemas Metropolis debuted with Avatar: The Way of Water.

United Cinemas, Japan, Installing Flexound Augmented Audio

Flexound Augmented Audio from Finland will open in December in 10 auditoriums of United Cinemas theatre in Odaiba, Japan with Avatar: The Way of Water. The technology provides personal immersive audio and natural vibration in theatre seats. The immersive effect is overwhelming for every moviegoer, but the vibration and clarity of sound are especially welcome for people with hearing impairments.

Hoyts Installing D-Box Seats in Seven Additional Theatres

Hoyts, the largest single-brand movie exhibitor in Australia, has commissioned D-Box haptic recliner seats in for seven additional Hoyts’ locations, to be installed by the end of 2023. This will raise the total number of Hoyts theatres equipped with D-Box technology over the last four years to 22, many of them full-fledged D-Box auditoriums.
