Kodak Releases New Film Cleaning System

Kodak has announced the release of a new, P-200 Film Cleaning System that the company says transforms the traditional film cleaning process. The revolutionary design allows the cleaning solvent to be dispersed on the film surface in a unique way. This economical, compact and digitally controlled system, which uses Kodak HFE 7200 Film Cleaner Solution, makes it ideal for today’s archives and libraries.

Why We Film, a documentary backed by the Association of Moving Image Archivist’s Film Advocacy Task Force, is an exploration of why and how film is engaged as a physical object and experience – the compelling reasons audiences watch it, filmmakers create with it, schools teach with it, and the key factors pointing to the need for its preservation. Today, its Kickstarter campaign was chosen as a Featured Project on the Film & Video category page of the funding platform’s site. It was also recently chosen as a Staff Pick.

The Association of Moving Image Archivists has announced a full roster of speakers for the 2015 Digital Asset Symposium, taking place November 18-19 in Portland, Oregon, at the Hilton Portland & Executive Tower. AMIA Broadens Focus on Education with Launch of Archiving Webinar Series

AMIA Online will launch the first three-webinar series in September, and address digital formats and storage, as well as best practices for personal and small audiovisual archives.
