Das Element Releases a New Version of its VFX Software

Das Element has released the latest version of its visual effects software, just in the time for its one-year anniversary. The company says the focus of this release was on usability by adding new functionalities that support and improve teamwork between users. A new feature called collections was designed to reduce artist’s overhead and increase productivity by eliminating long search processes for elements.

Arsenal FX Color Opens Albuquerque Facility

Arsenal FX Color, the Santa Monica-based, full-service post-production facility, has opened a satellite location in New Mexico. Located in Albuquerque, the site offers dailies, color grading, and finishing to television and film productions shooting in the state. In its first project, the Albuquerque facility provided dailies, color and finishing services for Unbroken, a pilot produced by Universal Television and starring Scott Bakula.

Riding a Virtual Subway

Break+Enter, a Nice Shoes company, served as a key visual effects provider on the second season of Russian Doll, the Emmy Award-winning Netflix series starring Natasha Lyonne, and co-created by Lyonne, Leslye Headland and Amy Poehler. The studio delivered nearly 150 visual effects shots for the eight-episode season. Most notably, Break+Enter, led by VFX supervisor Gabe Regentin, teamed with Lyonne, her production team, cinematographer Ula Pontikos and LED lighting specialist 4Wall Entertainment to recreate a large portion of the New York subway system using groundbreaking virtual production technology.

Adelaide-based visual effects studio Rising Sun Pictures has seen its fortunes grow spectacularly over the past two years and has applied its artistry to a series of high-profile projects ranging from the Baz Luhrmann film Elvis and Marvel’s Thor: Love and Thunder to the hit series The Boys, Cowboy Bebop and Hawkeye. Break+Enter Created Effects for The Pentaverate

Break+Enter served as principal visual effects provider for The Pentaverate, the new Netflix comedy series created by and starring Mike Myers. The studio was involved in the project from pre-production, with visual effects supervisor Taylor Tulip-Close leading the team in designing and executing scores of complex visuals for the series about an unlikely Canadian journalist who finds himself embroiled in a mission to uncover the truth and just possibly save the world himself.
