Dolby Laboratories today announced that there are now more than 4,000 Dolby Atmos screens installed worldwide. Dolby Atmos momentum continues to grow globally with screens installed in more than 90 countries. More than 150 mixing facilities and more than 1,000 feature films are released, or have been announced to be released, with support from all major Hollywood studios as well as content creators around the world, including Asia Pacific, North America and Latin America.
European cinema exhibitor services provider CinemaNext today announced that it has completed the installation of three new auditoria at France’s National Center of Cinematography and Moving Image headquarters in Paris. The CNC’s brand-new site has been equipped with the latest in image technology including EclairColor high dynamic range, 3D-capable Sony Digital Cinema 4K projectors, and Twavox for audio description and hearing support.
Éclair today announced that, starting in November, it will install a Samsung Onyx Cinema LED screen in its facilities in Paris-Vanves. This will make Éclair one of the first to provide professional services specifically tailored for the Onyx Cinema LED – contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1, color grading with true zero nit black, and ÉclairColor DCP mastering – to European filmmakers, producers and distributors.

Dolby's surround sound technology Atmos is one of the most sought-after features in the cinema market, and is often integrated into a larger premium concept. Such a premium concept was realized recently by the two Munich companies ZweiB and Videocation in a joint project in the 363-seat Saal 8 of the Dietrich Theater in Neu-Ulm, Germany.

Wanda Cinema has opened the world’s first Onyx multiplex theatre at its Shanghai Arch Wanda Cinema in Shanghai, China. The theatre, which opened September 7, has six Samsung Onyx screens in one location.
To commemorate the 25th anniversary release of Steven Spielberg's masterpiece Schindler's List, one of the most significant endeavors in the history of cinema, Universal Pictures will re-release the film with picture and sound digitally remastered—including in 4K, Dolby Cinema and Dolby Atmos—for a limited theatrical engagement on December 7, 2018, in theaters across the United States and Canada.
When it came time earlier this year for the owners of the Moviehouse & Eatery theatre chain to open their fifth complex, they turned once again to systems integrators Entertainment Supply & Technologies. ES&T has been a supply partner for Moviehouse & Eatery since the chain launched in 2012. “We have enjoyed a very productive working relationship with this client in the past,” said Barney Bailey, president and CEO of ES&T, “but this was an even more exciting and challenging project because it is first time we installed a complete Christie digital projection and Vive sound system package for a customer.”
In collaboration with PVR Cinemas, Samsung today introduced its 4K Onyx Cinema LED display for large screens in India.
Pixelogic has opened new advanced and innovative post-production content review and audio mixing theatres within its facility in Burbank, California. The main theatre is equipped with a Dolby Vision projection system, and supports Dolby Atmos immersive audio.
