Mocha Chai Laboratories, Singapore’s first fully integrated digital film lab, has installed the Christie Vive Audio cinema sound system in its dubbing theater to provide the best possible cinematic audio capabilities for post-production tasks. The dubbing theater, which is fully equipped with audio post-production and 4K color grading facilities, is fully compliant with the DCI-standard.
When scouting for a location for the premiere of Jason Bourne, Universal Pictures chose Las Vegas, an obvious choice since it’s the scene of the film’s climactic and chaotic car chase. But finding a venue large and grand enough to launch the film was another matter. There aren’t many movie theatres that can accommodate the thousands of celebrities and industry insiders expected to attend. Knowing that CinemaCon, the theatrical exhibition industry’s largest trade event, is held each year at Caesars Palace and that screenings are successfully done in the Colosseum, Universal felt confident that the 4,000 seat venue could provide a fitting launch pad for the new $120 million action thriller.
In response to what they say has been impressive guest reaction and the overwhelming success of Dolby Cinema at AMC in its first full year, Dolby Laboratories and AMC Theatres today announced plans to accelerate Dolby Cinema at AMC installations to 100 operational sites by the end of 2017, seven years ahead of the originally announced schedule. The original agreement, reached in 2015, was for 100 auditoriums over a 10-year deployment.
Dolby has released an exclusive video about the making of Star Trek Beyond, which features director Justin Lin, actor/writer and Simon Pegg, and actress Zoe Saldana, who plays Lieutenant Uhura. Lin is known for his work on the Fast & Furious series.

The upcoming titles include Disney’s Pete’s Dragon, due out August 12; Marvel’s Doctor Strange, due out November 4; Disney’s Moana, due out November 23; Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, due out March 17, 2017; Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, due out May 5, 2017; Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, due out May 26, 2017; and Disney•Pixar’s Cars 3, due out June 16, 2017.
Paramount Home Media Distribution will release a collection of home entertainment titles with a DTS:X soundtrack. Paramount’s first titles released on Blu-ray Disc with DTS:X audio are Daddy’s Home, starring Mark Wahlberg and Will Farrell; The Big Short, starring Christian Bale, Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling and Brad Pitt; Zoolander No. 2, starring Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson; and Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, starring Tina Fey and Margot Robbie
Wanda Pictures and Dolby Laboratories today announced that Wanda Pictures’ feature For A Few Bullets will be released for Dolby Cinema locations in China on July 15, making it the first Chinese local language movie mastered in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.

Dolby and Cineworld/Cinema City today announced plans to install up to 50 new Dolby Atmos screens throughout 2016 and into 2017. The planned Dolby Atmos screens will be installed across the United Kingdom, Central, Eastern Europe and Israel.
