Christie is the exclusive digital projection partner for the Shanghai International Film Festival for the ninth consecutive year. The event, which is taking place from June 17-26, is China’s only non-specialized competitive international film festival accredited by the Paris-based Fédération Internationale des Associations de Producteurs de Films. Currently in its 20th year, the star-studded festival kicked off in style with the screening of Danish Academy Award-winning film and television director Bille August’s latest film The Chinese Widow starring Emile Hirsch and Crystal Liu, while Chinese director Zheng Chang’s crime action film Detonator will close the event.

Dolby’s short animated film Escape, a sequel to two-time Daytime Emmy Award-winning short Silent, premiered last week at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York. Chosen for the Tribeca short film category out of a record number of 4,38 submissions, Escape is the story of a lone space explorer who crash-lands on a desolate planet and must find a way to make her new home habitable.

Éclair, Ymagis Group’s content services business unit, today announced a strategic alliance with the Art House Convergence, USA’s premier non-profit association in support of independent film exhibition and distribution. This new alliance was sealed during AHC’s 10th Anniversary Conference held just prior to the 2017 Sundance Film Festival.
