FuseFX gets Emmy Nomination for American Horror Story

American Horror Story is a major hit for FX. The show has won the loyalty of fans and kudos from critics for its smart, imaginative storytelling and superb performances from its stellar ensemble cast. The show also features some of the best visual effects on television. Ranging from photo-real set extensions to CG characters to all manner of blood and gore, they are the work of Burbank-based FuseFX, whose team is currently nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Special Visual Effects in a Supporting Role.

SMPTE Announces 2015 Award Recipients

The Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers has named the outstanding industry members who will be recognized October 29 at the SMPTE 2015 Awards Ceremony. The SMPTE 2015 Awards Ceremony, supported by Imax, is being held in conjunction with the SMPTE 2015 Annual Technical Conference & Exhibition at the Loews Hollywood Hotel in Los Angeles.

Chainsaw Provides Post Services for Emmy Nominees

Chainsaw, A Sim Group company, provided post production services for 11 television productions that received a total of 54 nominations in the 67th Emmy Awards. They include HBO’s Game of Thrones, which led all shows with 24 nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series, as well as nominations in directing, cinematography, editing and sound categories. Chainsaw performed editorial conforming and color grading for the show.

Panasonic VariCam 35 4K-Camera Imager Wins HPA Award

The Hollywood Post Alliance has announced that Panasonic is a recipient of the organization's 2015 Engineering Excellence Award for the company's development of the 4K-camera imager in its VariCam 35 4K camera/recorder. The honor will be bestowed on November 12 during the tenth annual HPA Awards gala at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, California.

Technicolor PostWorks Services Emmy Nominees

Technicolor PostWorks New York provided post-production services for five television series and three documentaries that received nominations in the 67th Emmy Awards. Nominated series include:

The Americans (FX) is nominated for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series (Joshua Brand) and Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series (Margo Martindale).

Technicolor PostWorks provided digital dailies, VFX, editorial conforming, and color grading.
