Last July PostWorks New York announced that it had formed a new digital film distribution service, PostWorks Digital Cinema, and hired industry veteran Greg Fornero to lead it. The Lionsgate's Summit Entertainment film La La Land will screen on November 15 at the TCL Chinese Theatre as part of AFI Fest 2016, presented by Audi. The film is directed by Academy Award nominee Damien Chazelle and stars Academy Award nominees Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling.

Christie is providing 4K projection to the British Film Institute London Film Festival at a unique temporary cinema that could become a blueprint for others. The Embankment Garden Cinema has also been built in celebration of the LFF’s 60th anniversary. For 11 days, with a 16-meter screen bigger than most London cinemas, the rigid-bodied structure will seat 800 people at London’s Victoria Embankment. It will also screen the LFF’s Official Competition and Strand Gala premieres.
Mirja Wester has been named CEO of the Göteborg Film Festival. Wester is well-established in the film industry and has worked at the festival for several years in different capacities, most recently as festival manager.
The creative team behind VariousArtistsTV.com, an online network for independent filmmakers to showcase their work, will be accepting submissions November 1 for their new online film festival competition, the Various Artists Independent Film Festival. The festival accepts submissions from filmmakers of all ages, ethnic groups and backgrounds from all over the world in various categories and genres.
