PVR Cinemas First in India with Cinionic Giant Screen Technology

PVR Cinemas has installed Cinionic’s Giant Screen technology in its flagship site in Priya, India. The move comes as part of an urban rehabilitation initiative by PVR of its heritage location providing audiences thrilling cinematic experiences combined with the latest in premium cinema amenities and innovation. Priya’s new premium P[XL] auditorium powered by CGS, has a 19-meter (62-foot) giant screen, and features the latest laser projection. The PVR P[XL] at Priya is the first powered by CGS cinema in India.

Karo Opening Ten New Theatres

Leading Russian cinema operator Karo will open ten Karo: New Generation locations with developer ADG over the next 10 months, with the first to open on November 15. Another six locations are slated to open by the end of the year. The remaining Karo: New Generation multiplexes will open in Russian regional cities — in collaboration with other real estate partners — beginning in the second quarter of 2022, with further large-scale expansion planned through 2024.

Kinema Adds More than Sixty Films to Growing Content Library

Kinema, which calls itself a cinematic experience platform, has expanded its film library to a total of more than 60 new titles. New partners include Magnolia Pictures, Greenwich Entertainment, Abramorama, Cargo Releasing, Frameline, Film Movement and Well Go USA. The rollout of the new titles, all of which have experienced global film festival recognition and critically acclaimed industry reviews, will continue this summer into the late fall.
