Directed by and written by Farzana Tipurita and produced by Chris Carr, owner of Beyond Mirrors, the short film The Other Woman depicts a life-changing encounter at a beauty salon between a wife who’s hiding her unhappiness behind Gucci shades, and a mistress who’s concealing her frustrations behind a professional facade. The film was a co-production between Mandala Films and Beyond Mirrors Ltd.

Guilmette Battles Extreme Weather for Mt. Washington Shoot

Recently DP Tom Guilmette took on an assignment at the top of Mt. Washington in New Hampshire, nicknamed Home of the World’s Worst Weather. Guilmette was hired to capture video of meteorologists and observers working during the brutal Mt. Washington winter. The footage will be used in the Mt. Washington Observatory Museum that’s due to open summer 2014

Filming the World’s Fastest Land Animal

National Geographic magazine challenged director of photography Greg Wilson to create a shot tracking a sprinting cheetah—in the spirit of Eadweard Muybridge’s 1878 image of a running horse. Combining the resources of National Geographic and the Cincinnati Zoo, and drawing on the skills of an incredible crew, Wilson and his team were responsible for simultaneously capturing motion picture images and high-resolution stills of the cheetah for use in the magazine.

Post-production on Disconnect has been completed at Technicolor-Postworks in New York, where the work ran the gamut from dailies processing through digital intermediates colorist Tim Stipan (Moonrise Kingdom, Black Swan) applied the final grade, working alongside Rubin and cinematographer Ken Seng. Disconnect, the new drama from LD Entertainment and director Henry Alex Rubin, weaves three loosely related narrative lines, each of which relates to the Internet and the way it is affecting human relationships.

After all, without really having to search, he was already set up quite nicely at 580 Broadway after a few months renovation. In a real estate deal said to go off with minimum hassle, Cioni’s Light Iron had taken the eighth floor space held by OffHollywood’s post-production operations, which included a sleek digital intermediates grading theater.
